Running for All!

The Eau Claire Marathon believes that racing is for everyone, regardless of background, identity, or ability. Our event is dedicated to creating an environment where participants of all races, ethnicities, genders, ages, abilities, and experiences feel welcome, respected, and supported.

We celebrate diversity in all its forms and strive to ensure that every individual has an equal opportunity to compete, connect, and thrive. Our commitment to inclusivity is reflected in our efforts to eliminate barriers, promote equity, and foster a sense of belonging for all participants.

Together, we can create a racing community that is as diverse and vibrant as the people who participate in it.

Rainb-EAU Mile

We are bringing the celebration to the final stretch of the ECM (Mile 26/13)! Together, we’re making the running world more inclusive!

Runners who wish to finish strong with a Pride flag in hand can grab one as they pass by this cheer zone.

Let’s fill the course with love, support & Pride!

Mobility Inclusion

The Eau Claire Marathon is proud to provide racers with disabilities the opportunity to participate in our event. We are committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment where all individuals, regardless of ability, can compete and enjoy the experience. We believe in empowering everyone to reach their full potential and are dedicated to ensuring that our event is welcoming and supportive for racers of all abilities.

For All Mothers+

We are on a mission to empower mothers by removing barriers that hold them back. Our race weekend allows mothers to thrive in their health and personal ambitions by being family-friendly!

WE ARE a family-forward event:

  • Our Eau Claire Marathon Expo and the 5K/10K finish line are located at The Sonnentag Center which has a private lactation space, diaper changing stations and family restrooms.

  • We welcome strollers in our 5K & 10K races.

  • Cheri Uelmen’s Fantastically Fun Kids’ Run is suitable for children from 0-12 years old.

  • There is a FAMILY ZONE on both Saturday & Sunday, a place for children to have fun while waiting to cheer on their biggest fans.

ECM Sweepers

No one finishes last! Sweepers ensure that everyone receives support and no one is left behind. They are essential for maintaining morale and providing encouragement to participants, especially those who might be struggling in the later stages of the race.

ECM offers sweepers for our full marathon, half marathon and 10K races - look for them in our start corral!

Non-Binary Divisions & Awards

We are proud to offer race divisions and awards for male, female, and non-binary participants. Participants may register for and participate in the division that is consistent with their gender and lived experience.

Our commitment to inclusivity ensures that all individuals, regardless of gender identity, have the opportunity to compete in a division that aligns with their identity.
